CASE STUDY
WRA
Learn how WRA replaced Newforma with Part3 to simplify CA, streamline workflows, and work more efficiently—from the office and the field.

The problem
Before switching to Part3, WRA Architects was using Newforma to manage their construction administration—but it wasn’t delivering the ease or flexibility the team needed. The interface felt outdated and was limited to desktop use, with no mobile or web-based option. That restriction made it difficult to access the platform on the go, especially for a team working across job sites and offices.
For architects who were new to the CA phase, the experience was even more challenging. Learning the complexities of CA is already a steep enough curve on its own—but layering in a tool that was complex and hard-to-navigate made it even harder to get up to speed. Newforma added an extra layer of effort—figuring out how to use the tool before you could even begin learning or doing the CA work itself.
The WRA team needed something easier to use—something that would support architects of all experience levels and help them focus on the work itself, not the software.
The shift
WRA’s adoption of Part3 started with a single pilot project. After a smooth and successful run, they made the full transition—retiring Newforma and rolling out Part3 company-wide. Quinton Scales, Construction Administration Manager at WRA, led the internal onboarding, leveraging his background with Procore to set up best practices, training sessions, and support resources.
Part3’s web-based platform and modern UX allowed users to get up to speed quickly, regardless of their experience with CA. With Quinton leading the charge, WRA rolled out key features like field reports, submittals, RFIs, and Procore integration—centralizing their CA process within one system. Quinton also highlighted the time-saving benefit of being able to set project roles and multiple assignees up front, rather than repeating the same manual steps over and over again.

The results
Switching to Part3 gave WRA Architects a faster, more intuitive way to manage construction administration. The intuitive interface and simplified navigation made it easier for team members to quickly get comfortable with the software and start using it independently (and without constant guidance). What once required significant training and workarounds in Newforma is now streamlined through a system that’s easier to adopt and apply—even for team members new to CA.
Core workflows like field reports, RFIs, and submittals are now managed in one central platform, saving time and eliminating the need to jump between emails, spreadsheets, Word docs, and other disconnected tools.
Because Part3 is cloud-based and mobile-friendly, the team can access their projects from anywhere—and even work offline when they’re on site. This flexibility has made a big difference in the field, where connectivity isn’t always reliable.
Bringing everything into one place has reduced time spent chasing emails and juggling disconnected tools. It’s also made it easier to include consultants, general contractors, and clients in the process—without the hassle of managing extra licenses. Everyone has access to the same information, and project communication no longer lives across scattered inboxes. With a platform purpose-built for CA, WRA has reduced friction across the board and shifted more energy into project execution—not troubleshooting software.
